AAEP Awards

The American Association of Emergency Psychiatry (AAEP) celebrates exemplary contributions to the field of emergency psychiatry. Our award programs support AAEP and community members from all professional backgrounds and career stages. 

Garland "Bo" H. Holloman, Jr. Distinguished Member Award

The Garland “Bo” H. Holloman, Jr. Distinguished Member Award, established in 2013 by the Board of Directors of the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry, has been created to recognize outstanding contributors to the field of emergency psychiatry.  The award honors a member of AAEP who has made a notable contribution to emergency psychiatry through publications, advocacy, and/or leadership.

Eligibility: The nominee must be currently active in AAEP and demonstrate a marked contribution to the field of emergency psychiatry.

Selection: Nomination letters should be submitted to the Board of Directors.  The awardee will be determined by majority vote of the Board.

Deadline: Discretion of the Board

Award: Plaque  

AAEP Rising Scholars Program

The AAEP Rising Scholars Program recognizes and supports the development of junior faculty and trainees who have the potential to make substantial contributions to the practice of emergency psychiatry. Read more about this mentored Fellowship and apply here.

Eligibility: The nominee must be an AAEP member and a trainee or early career faculty. Selected fellows must be able to attend the NUBE Conference in December 2025,

Deadline: Applications are due August 1, 2024.

Award: Up to 3 Fellows are being recognized through the Rising Scholars Program in 2024. Fellows receive complimentary AAEP membership and registration to the NUBE meeting in December 2025.
