AAEP Rising Scholars ProgramThe AAEP Rising Scholars Program recognizes and supports the development of junior faculty and trainees who have the potential to make substantial contributions to the practice of emergency psychiatry. This one-year Fellowship offers a year-long, mentored experience culminating in a presentation at the National Updates on Behavioral Emergencies (NUBE) Conference. We are seeking to help emerging scholars deepen their connection to AAEP and develop a professional network that can accelerate innovation and collaboration. Fellows will participate in monthly mentoring meetings with Senior AAEP leaders. (Applicants may, but are by no means expected to, suggest a mentor.) We encourage Fellows to identify a project that they will develop as part of the Fellowship. AAEP recognizes the importance of all types of scholarship; as such, the proposed project can be original scientific research, a program evaluation, a quality improvement work, or other work. Fellows will then receive support in preparing a high quality abstract and presentation for the following year’s NUBE meeting. All types of scholarship are welcome though greatest consideration is given to projects generating new knowledge. Fellows will receive free conference registration for the year they present, free AAEP membership, and recognition at the NUBE conference.
