Nootropics are a non-specific group of "cognition" improving chemicals. Similarly, peptides are being marketed to consumers as improving biological function.  As internet discussion and marketplaces make them easily accessible, but with limited quality clinical information, it is essential for psychiatrists to develop an understanding of these drugs. This lunchtime talk will briefly review the origins of these chemicals, their intended benefits, and known risks.
